Scopus Preview

Since January 2023, it is only Scopus Preview that is available in Russia. We start our series of posts #ITMO.Authors with the accessibility of resources after the sanctions.
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database that covers nearly 36,377 titles from about 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields. It also offers tools for research tracking and analyzing.
At https://www.scopus.com/ we open the Scopus Preview page, which provides an opportunity to see the sources indexed in the database and the authors' profiles. All the actions described below are available without logging into an account.
The search for authors is provided by name (for clarification, you can specify the institution ), as well as the ORCID identifier.
When you go to the author's profile, you get the information as follows: affiliation, Scopus ID, ORCID (if it is linked to the account), the total number of papers and citations, the Hirsch index, the co-authors, the latest 10 documents and a number of other parameters.
Knowing the Scopus identifier, you can also go directly to the author's profile using the link like this: https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=************ (asterisks correspond to Scopus AuthorID)
The list of sources can be searched by field, title, publisher, and ISSN. Thus, you can check the indexing of the source of interest in Scopus. A number of filters are available in the left hand panel, including the CiteScore quartile.
You can also download the list of Scopus sources in excel file format. For example, it is the list of sources whose indexing has been discontinued that may be of interest.
We hope you find this information helpful!
